Statement
For me, there is always a fleeting moment of sadness in the midst of excitement. Celebrating who I am and what I have achieved often reminds me of who I’ve been and where I came from. That sense of nostalgia for heritage and culture never really goes away when you have to build a home away from home. This piece represents the ever-present longing for Mexico and my old life, found even while I’m happy.
