Statement
Being of Mexican decent, I want to represent my people through fine art in a non-stereotypical way. Quinceañeras are a Mexican tradition of a girl going into womanhood, and with this painting I have my subject wearing her Quince dress and painted in the style of a European portrait.
Biography
Julián Díaz is an oil painter based in Gainesville, Georgia. He is a self-taught artist who incorporates cultural elements from his Mexican background into his work.
