Statement
In the Latino culture, family is the most vital social tie. These family values involve taking care of the elderly. Latino family culture typically perceives caregiving for elderly relatives as a privilege, not a burden nor duty. On the contrary, it’s an honor to incorporate the older relatives into one’s family, where they can offer their wisdom and experience to a multigenerational family, and be involved in new kinds of experiences with their loved ones.
Biography
Staying with relatives and receiving them at home has always been a regular practice in my family. I particularly feel a great respect for my grandparents since they sacrificed so much for all family.
